The ethnomedicinal studies show that knowledge and usage of medicinal plants for the treatement of cardiovascular diseases(CVD) is found among the Malayali Tribes, Tiruchirappalli district, Tamilnadu, India. A total of 14 species of ethno medicinalplants belonging to 12 genera and 12 families were reported with the help of interviews among Malayali Tribes. The study would serve as evidence for the traditional use of the medicinal plants by Malayali community in the management of CVD. However, most of the plants used by the Malayali community are not recorded. Hence, we describe ETHNOMED: Ethnomedicinal plant database containing information about the medicinal plants for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
